About this piece:
“A Woman’s Story” lives alongside my other works that entwine Christianity with vampiric transformation. This piece reinterprets the tale of David and Goliath. Here, David is reimagined as a woman, to highlight the lack of strong women in scripture.
She is rendered as a vampire to heighten the friction between sacred canon and monstrous folklore. The piece questions the hierarchy of belief: the only difference between a biblical miracle and a vampiric legend is which one is sanctified, and which one is dismissed as fantasy.
